Allowing all users access to run 1stWorks products
In order to allow all users the ability to run hotComm, Files2Phones or PC2Me from a single install, the security level of the data folder needs to be altered.
On systems running the Vista operating system Running under an administrator account, start the Windows Explorer and move to the folder containing the 1stWorks data path, commonly set to C:\ProgramData. Right-click your mouse on the 1stWorks folder and select Properties. In the 1stWorks Properties dialog select the Security tab.
In the Group or user names list, select the Users entry. In the Permissions for Users section, check the Allow for the Full Control entry and press OK. This will allow all users access to run any 1stWorks product. On systems running the XP operating system To provide access to the Security Tab mentioned above, you will need to reboot the system in Safe Mode and login under an adminstrator account. Once rebooted follow the steps outlined above for the Vista operating system, except in the Windows Explorer move to the folder containing the 1stWorks data path, commonly set to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Applications Data.. When completed, reboot the system back into normal mode and all users will have access to run any 1stWorks product. Rev: 6/8/09 Top |
